On Tuesday, Dec. 1, I (Barbara) had the opportunity to go to a local school and share the History of Christmas with a group of 3rd graders. They were a very good group of students and were anxious to take part in the story. One child passed out the pieces of the Nativity Set and each child held up their piece when I mentioned it in the story. Then at the end of the story, they brought the pieces up to the table and placed them in the stable. We sang 4 Christmas Carols to end our program. I left coloring sheets of the manger scene and the 3 wise men with the teacher for them to color at a later time.
We look forward to sharing in area churches about our work in Romania. Scheduled dates to speak are on Dec. 13, 20 and January 10. We pray for more opportunities to come available.
We are enjoying our time of furlough. Time is passing so quickly, it will be March and time to return to the mission field before we know it.

We arrived home in Dothan, AL early morning (1:30 a.m.) on Nov. 7. We hit the ground running and have been busy since we arrived.
We have seen our children and all of our grandchildren. They are growing too fast. They range in age from 15 years to 5 months.
We have begun to receive invitations to speak in churches. We praise God for this.
The metal to rebuild the storage shelter at our facility in Romania is on its way. Please pray for its safe arrival as well as the other contents in the container. We are grateful for this donation and its shipping.
Please pray for us as we spend our furlough in the states this winter.

This is a very busy week for us as we prepare to fly out from Timisoara on Friday, Nov. 6. We will be returning to the U.S. for our yearly furlough. We are looking forward to having time to spend with our family and hopefully a little time of rest.
We ask for your prayers as we travel. We will arrive in Atlanta at 9:35 p.m. and will drive to Dothan that night. So we will be early morning arriving. It always take a little time to adjust back to the time difference.

Highlights of Summer 2009: Our Ministry Activities
It is very hard to select only a few pictures and stories to share from a full summer of ministry. We have tried to show some highlights of our ministy here in Romania this year. We hope you enjoy seeing the pictures and can grasp an understanding of what we try to do here as we minister in the Lord's name.
The first picture is a group photo of our Bible Club in Vinga. The next one is a little girl (in the wheelchair) who loves to the Bible Clubs. The little girl who is with her always comes and helps her. I asked if they were sisters and they said no, just good friends. The next picture is of 2 of our youngest children who come to the Bible Club. These pictures are from our June 12, 2009 Bible Club.
These 3 pictures(above) are of 2 of our neighbor children. They still love to come here to swing and play even though we no longer have children living here. In Romania the women do a lot of the work, so as you can see above Larisa is pulling Abel in the wagon. She is getting her training early.
Here in these 2 photos, some children in Hunedoara Timisana are selecting the clothes they want as their prize for acomplishments in the camp activities. These clothes are from donations of a container ministry we help with in the clearing and distribution of the goods.
These are boxes that have been loaded and will go to a nearby village. This is also part of the container ministry we help with.
Here the children in Bozovici are working on the craft project at our Bible Club on Aug. 1.
The completed project. Our story was of Noah's faith and trust in God.
Here are the children with the New Testaments they received. These Bibles were purchased by Gretna Baptist Church in Gretna, Florida for distribution in our Bible Clubs.
In Sopotul Vechi we are teaching the children a new song.
These 3 pictures are of the children working on their tree for Zacchaeus. God called him down from the tree because he wanted to abide in his heart, just as He still does today calls us out and wants to forgive us our sins and abide in our hearts and lives.
Above are pictures taken at a Grismill outside of Bozovici. We visited this on our way home from the Bible Clubs. This grismill is still in operation. This is a beautiful area of the country.
In Vinga we have 2 Family Practice Doctors. Above is pictured their assistants & nurses receiving some donations of medical supplies (bandages, insulin seringes, glucose monitors, etc.)which were in the container we helped distribute this summer.
These are the children who lived with us for 14 months in our "Family Home". Diana, Andreea, Lori and Dani came for a visit on Sept. 7 and spent one night with us. They are all in school and enjoy it. They are pictured at he complex where they live. They live in a 2 room apartment to the left of them (not the one you see in the picture). We took them shopping for some school clothes. So they all went home with something new to wear. They seem to be doing well but when we took them home, they didn't want us to leave them, especially Diana & Lori. Please pray for these children.
