PREPARING FOR SPRING

September 29, 2009
This is the crane that moved the container from its present location to the back of the property in order to enlarge and put a new roof on the barn. The barn is used for a container ministry in which we serve as a distribution point for unloading & sending items to different areas of need. The items are distributed by missionaries serving in this area and also through pastors of Romanian churches.

THERE IT GOES!!

On Friday & Saturday (9/25-26/09), we hosted a retreat for children of area pastors. There were 5 girls and 8 boys who attended along with Bro. Romica Iuga and his wife who served as chaperones. The children had a time of fun, games, food, fellowship and a Bible study and prayer time. We enjoyed having the children and hoped they had a fun time here.

Our First Blog

Last weekend (Sat. 9/19/09) I (Buddy) had the oportunity to visit the village Valea in Gorj county which is in the Oltenia region of the country of Romania. This region is very poor and there are many ministry needs there. We have heard many stories about this area but now know them for myself. The pictures above were taken as we unloaded the van with boxes from a container we received. Also is the family, I stayed with and a grandmother we saw with her grandchildren. She is responsible for their care while the parents are working in another country. I was given the opportunity to visit a children's Bible club and also speak in the church on Sunday. The people were very hospitable and the family I stayed with were wonderful. They opened their home to me and treated me very well. The lady of the home, Mariana, has a problem with her leg and has to take medication daily and wear special support hose for this. I was able upon returning to Vinga to get her a 5 month supply of the medication and will be sending it to her. Please pray for us to have the opportunity to return to this area in the future and minister to some of the needs there.

I also met a family which is very poor. They are the last 3 pictures. He makes his living as a blacksmith, making the horseshoes and other items for the people to buy. He was shoeing a horse upon our arrival. He has 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl. He invited me into their home. It was a small 2 room house with dirt floors. It was hard for me to believe people still live in these type of conditions. Please pray for this family.
