Update on BCM Camp Ministry

Work at the camp is going well.  We have our first event scheduled for Sept. 14-15, 2012.  It will be a Boy's Camping Retreat for ages 1st - 6th grade.

We have been blessed by many volunteers who are helping with the construction.  We appreciate the sacrifice of time and talents they have made to the ministry.

May 31, 2012
Where has the time gone?  It has been 2 months since we returned from Romania.  We went on Feb. 28, 2012 and stayed for one month.  The purpose of our trip was to close out our ministry there and help Jeff and Anna Phillips to transition into their new role as Global Outreach Missionaries working in Vinga, Romania.  They are living in the building that we built in Vinga and are continuing to work in some of the same areas we worked in.  We pray God will bless their work and ministry there, just as He did with us.

Now that we have returned back to the U.S. we have begun to focus on establishing the camp ministry in Cottonwood, AL.  Our ministry goal is to build a Christian Camp.  The office building is in the process of being renovated and the construction of the Pavilion has been started.

Buddy has been blessed to be able to return to work at the trucking company he worked with for 15+ years prior to us going to Romania.  He is working out of Pensacola at this time.  We praise God for the way He continues to provide for our needs.

We have started a new blog for the BCM Camp Ministry.  You may view it at http://bcmcampministry.blogspot.com  to stay updated on our new ministry.

Again we want to thank everyone who had a part in our ministry in Romania.  Your prayers, love and financial gifts were truly a blessing and encouragement to us.

Anna's birthday

This picture above was taken at the reception following Jeff & Ann's commissioning service at their home church, First Baptist Church of Donalsonville, GA on Sunday evening, February 26, 2012. It was a wonderful service.

Below is a picture of Jeff, Anna and Coleman as we celebrated Anna's first birthday in Romania on Wednesday, March 7. We baby sat Coleman for Jeff to take Anna out to dinner and we surprised her with a cake when they returned.

Furlough in U.S. and Return to Romania 2012

We had a wonderful time in the U.S. for our annual 3 month furlough. We met our youngest granddaughter, Claudia for the first time in person. It was much better than just seeing her on Skype. We actually got to hold her and love on her as well as the other 5 granddaughters we have. It was good to be home. We spent Christmas with our family and enjoyed it very much. We are grateful for the time allowed to go home on furlough and see family and friends and spend time with our supporters also. Thank you for allowing us this privilege. It was a busy time but we accomplished a lot during this time.

We have been back in Romania for a week. We arrived on Feb. 29. When we arrived it was cold and still had snow on the ground. Finally the snow has melted but it is still cold. The Romanians tell us it was a rough winter for them.

Jeff & Anna Phillips, and Coleman their son, came with us this year. They are new missionaries with Global Outreach International. They will be living here and working in Vinga. They will begin language lessons in April and focus the first year on learning the language and culture. They have completed the first step of their visa application. They are now waiting on approval from the Baptist Union, which will take about 3 weeks, then they can complete the rest of the process.

They seem to be adjusting well. Jeff is learning to drive and deal with the city traffic in Arad and Timisoara. They are beginning to get familiar with some of the places here. Anna had a lesson in making homemade biscuits yesterday afternoon. She did very well and caught on very easily.

Vinga Baptist Church made them feel very welcome last Sunday and we attended both services there.

Please pray for them as they settle in and get accustomed to everything.
