G.O. Missionary Conference-Retreat, June 10-14, 2010 in Bulgaria

June 10-14, 2010, we held a Global Outreach Missionary Conference/Retreat in Vidin, Bulgaria. There were 3 Global Outreach families attending. Buddy & Barbara Braswell, Romania; Steve & Debra Richardson, Romania; Spas, Christina & Joanna Stoimenovi, Bulgaria. It was a wonderful time of relaxing, seeing some sights, Christian fellowship and worship. Each night we met and a different family shared about their call to and the work of their ministry. We sang songs, shared and prayed for each others needs. It was a blessing to have the opportunity to do this.

Below is a picture of our group at the Castle in Vidin we visited on Friday.

The 2 young ladies with our group are Karis & Hope Edwards. Their family used to serve in Bulgaria with another organization. We enjoyed having them with us.

This is an old Jewish Temple. It is a shame to see it in ruins.

Joanna loves the horse.

We have the wagon, where are the horse and driver?

The food was great! Anyone for a cool fruit salad?

On Saturday we went to Belogradchik, which is about one hours drive from Vidin. (If you don't turn around because you think you are going the wrong way. You'd had to been there to know what I mean. We told Spas he was becoming to Americanized in his humor.) The rock formations and old castle ruins were beautiful as you can see in this picture behind us. It was a great place to see.

Don't let that rock fall!!

Buddy praying before he goes climbing! (see next picture)

After all that hiking it was time to sit down and relax for a nice meal. This was not the hotel we stayed at. It was booked up.

Joanna relaxing.

The next few pictures were taken on Sunday morning at the Bulgarian church where we worshipped.

Bob and Becky Faber are missionaries in Bulgaria with "Salt Ventures". Bob was the guest minister. He preached in Bulgarian.

These next pictures were taken at the "Angelov Han" Hotel. This is where we stayed in Vidin.
It was a very nice rustic style hotel. This is the room where we had our meetings each night and breakfast in the mornings.

Our return trip home we took the Ferry Boat across the Danube river from Bulgaria to Romania.

May 29, 2010 - Bible Clubs in Hunedoara Timisana and Sagu

Here are some pictures of our Bible Club in Hunedoara Timisana. We had 13 children in attendance. Our story was about knowing what we wanted to be when we grew up. Jesus knew He would be our Savior when He grew up.
Each child was given a picture and they came up and told about what they wanted to be when they grew up.

This was Emma's first time to translate for me. She did a wonderful job. She is the daughter of the Pastor, Bro. Florin.

May 22, 2010 Bible Club at Sopotul Vechi

Below are pictures of the beautiful children in the Baptist Church at Sopotul Vechi. They love to laugh, sing, do craft activities and listen to the Bible stories. We always enjoy going and working with these children. The attendance was down some this time but we still had a wonderful time with the ones who did attend. We did the same Bible story - Ruth - as we did in Bozovici.

The children are getting ready to pray.

Youth Meeting Saturday, May 22.

Bro. Daniel Fisteag organized a youth meeting with areas churches. There were over 100 youth in attendance.
Each church shared in song. Below are the youth from Bozovici.

Buddy shared a few words of encouragement with the youth. He told them to always listen to God speaking to their hearts and to obey the calling He has for each of their lives.

A preacher from England shared the main message.

Bible Club in Bozovici, Saturday, May 22

As you can see in the three pictures above the children are working intensely on their craft project. The boys made turtles and the girls flowers. They had fun.
Below they are showing off the finished products.

Our Bible story for the children was also on Ruth. They learned of her faithfulness and devotion to her mother-in-law Naomi. And also how God was faithful to Ruth and took care of her and gave her the great privilege of being the grandmother of King David who is part of the lineage of Jesus Christ.
